About Susan

Susan Spears is a Portland, Oregon artist who received her B.A. in Art and teaching credential from California State University at Fullerton.  She then obtained a degree in Commercial Art and worked in the illuminated sign business for several years.  After teaching high school art, Susan began teaching adults how to paint in watercolor and acrylic around Portland and at the Portland Art Museum, the prestige oregon art museum.

She leads a plein air workshop called Eye on the Sky Outdoor Workshop that meets every Friday from the middle of April through the end of October.  On these painting Fridays the class travels all over the Portland area and beyond painting at a variety of locations.  During the Oregon rainy months, Susan teaches an indoor drawing class that meets every Friday from January through March.  This class finds interesting businesses, antique stores, and museums in which to draw.

Susan's paintings hang in many corporate collections such as Intel, The Trainers Club in Lake Oswego, The Portland City Grill, Deloitte, an international accounting firm, and private collections.
